Apartment on Balmes Street, Barcelona

Interior design for Ecohabitats Arquitectura i Construcció

A typical apartment in Barcelona's Eixample district, originally facing both sides of the building: the interior courtyard and the exterior, in this case, Balmes Street. Currently, the apartment is divided into two separate rental units.

The project involved combining the two apartments into one, creating a much more open and airy layout with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, an entrance hall, a laundry room, and an enclosed terrace. All the original mosaic flooring, one of the most valuable features of the Eixample apartments, was preserved and restored, along with the original ceiling moldings.
