Design vs. Decoration

Interior design is not about decorating or "making a space pretty".

Interior design is about studying a space from scratch to optimize it to the fullest according to the client's needs. This involves redistributing and modifying the proposed space. It includes creating a concept, modifying plans, creating new layouts, choosing materials and finishes, designing and selecting furniture, and decorating.

Decoration is the final step in an interior design project or the first step in a decorating project. It's where the decorative elements of a space are defined.
